Details of the Initiative

The Center for the History of Meiji University (Director: Professor MURAKAMI Kazuhiro, School of Law) collects and preserves materials related to the history of Meiji University and utilizes them for educational and research activities. The Center is holding a special exhibition titled “Pioneer in Fostering Female Legal Professionals: Meiji University’s School of Law and Women’s School Division” to share the fact that Meiji University produced the first female lawyer in Japan and our research outcomes on the training of female legal professionals (Venue: Meiji University Surugadai Campus Academy Common Basement 1 University Museum Gallery, March 25 to October 28, 2024). As a related project, the University Museum’s student public relations ambassadors created “The Map of Chiyoda Ward: Places Associated with Ms. MIBUCHI Yoshiko” and gave it out to visitors. The Center not only provides educational activities through exhibitions but also creates a wide range of educational effects and leads to cooperation with Chiyoda City.
